Forest School at College

Posted: 16th March 2022

Some of our childcare and health and social care students took part in Forest School in the college grounds this week.
They were lead by two Forest School teachers from The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust.
Forest School is increasingly being used early years settings and some health and social care environments.
There are numerous benefits to learning outside including increased motivation and concentration, building resilience and developing self regulation skills. Our students enjoyed playing games, doing woodwork, assessing risks collaboratively and lighting a fire to boil water for hot drinks. A superb/educational day was enjoyed by all!
