There are many opportunities to connect with other like-minded students through the range of interest-based groups provided. They offer the perfect opportunity for you to develop your interpersonal skills and to build valuable experience which will strengthen your application to university/employment.

Please note that the list of enrichments is constantly changing with new opportunities being added on a regular basis too.

WORK EXPERIENCE 

Work Experience is an invaluable part of career planning and a valuable addition to your CV. It can be undertaken during any free time on your timetable or in a one or two week placement during the holidays. The Careers Team/subject tutors can provide you help in your journey to find relevant placements. Some courses have work experience as part of their programme of study.

VOLUNTEERING 

Developing your skill and experience in caring for others, our environment, charities or sharing subject knowledge to support other learners, for example, Maths SYMPLfiers and GCSE Peer Mentoring. Supports applications into higher education and employment.

STUDENTS’ UNION

Being part of the Students’ Union is a great opportunity to represent the student body to ensure that voices are heard and that changes are made to improve QMC as a whole. The SU also organise various fundraisers, charity events and activities for students. Each offers unique opportunities to develop your skills and enhance future university and job applications. 

STUDENT AMBASSADOR TEAM

If you would like to volunteer to support College activities and events while meeting new people you can sign up to our Ambassador Programme. We use our ambassadors at events such as school assemblies, Open Evenings and at Welcome Day to support applicants.

Fundraising/College Charity

College and the Students’ Union fundraises for a variety of college projects and charities.

CHRISTIAN UNION

If you are a Christian, or just interested in finding out what it’s all about, the lunchtime sessions provide the opportunity to get involved. 

EQUALITY & DIVERSITY GROUP

The group meets at least once every half term to try to ensure that all students, staff and visitors are treated fairly according to their needs, regardless of race or ethnicity, religion or belief, gender, gender identity, disability, sexual orientation or age. The E&D Group also aim to engage staff and students in a wide range of awareness raising activities.

Pride Youth- LGBTQAI+ Society

Are you passionate about promoting inclusivity, connecting with like-minded individuals, and actively contributing to a more diverse and supportive college community? Look no further! Our Pride Club is your safe space to meet fellow members of the community and allies who share your commitment to creating a more accepting environment for all. 

 

Relaxed Games Club

Play board games and jigsaws in a relaxed environment! This club is open to everyone and all playing abilities.

Esports Escapism

In this enrichment: you will be competing in the British Esports Student Championships against other colleges throughout the UK. 

Table Top Games

Whether you are interested in Wargames, Roleplaying, Card, or Board Games then you can meet other gamers to play. All are welcome whether you’re a grizzled veteran, recent convert or just curious to see what all the fuss is about. This will be a social and friendly group of players talking about and playing games.

Minecraft 4 All

An inclusive and accessible session, with opportunities to explore the creative side of MC Education edition, and get involved in creative build projects. Suitable for all levels of experience. 

Scrabble Club

Purely recreational: a friendly game of Scrabble played the old-fashioned way, on a board. A great opportunity to meet new people and exercise your brain in a bout of harmless fun.
