Please click through all of the important steps below which prepares you for your Enrolment Appointment. The steps contain important information, guidance and forms for you to complete and return by the end of July, where relevant. Feel free to contact us if you have any queries or concerns on info@qmc.ac.uk

Please remember to bring your results and ID to your appointment.

 

Important steps to complete

STEP 1: Read and Sign the Parental Consent Form

Parental Consent Form – Parents/Guardians, please use the link provided in the Joining Pack email to log in to the online application site.  This will prompt you to complete the following:
Consent for students to leave the College site for team games, day trips, work experience, etc, throughout the year and to confirm if we can use personal images (photographic/film) in and around College, on our website, with partner organisations for educational purposes, etc.

Medical: Confirm student medical information and emergency contacts.

Upload Student Photo: guidelines can be found on the form.

STEP 2: Exam Requirements

Students awarded exam arrangements in school, such as, extra time, a reader, or scribe, will be reassessed for post-16 studies.
If you have any paperwork to support the arrangement, send copies electronically to this email , or bring them to your enrolment appointment, eg: Form 8, medical letters, assessments, SENDCO reports, etc.

STEP 3: IT Code of Conduct

Safe and responsible use of IT is critical for your wellbeing and that of the organisation. Please use the link to read the Code.
You will be asked to accept the IT Code of Conduct when you use College devices.

STEP 4: Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)

It is becoming increasingly important in life for students to have their own device and headphones where possible. Students are encouraged to bring these to College for use in lessons and for private study.

If you wish to purchase a device, QMC work with a supplier to provide a variety of options at competitive prices. You deal directly with them.

STEP 5: Travel to College

This tab contains information about QMC’s Green Travel Plan and the options available for travel to College. Click through to the link for further information about College bus passes, Stagecoach services and train information.

The link to the Application Form for the College Bus Pass Academic Year 2022 to 2023 is now available, please click on the link below. Please respond to all questions, through to completion, and submit the application. You will have the opportunity to save, or print, your application form following submission. Please submit only one application per student. Once completed you may call us on 01256 417518 and speak with our Cash Office team to make payment at your convenience.

STEP 6: Playing for College Teams & Sport at QMC Information

If students wish to play for one of the College’s sports teams they should already have recorded their preferences as part of the online acceptance process but it is not too late to pick this up at your enrolment appointment. Also enclosed is general information about other opportunities to get fit at QMC, including an offer of free membership to the QMC Sports Centre during the summer holidays.

STEP 7: Financial Support for Students (College Bursary)

Please click Financial Support for students for further information on eligibility for financial support (bursary), such as: free college meals, etc.  Applications will only be accepted through PayMyStudent.  The portal will open mid-July.
Register the name of parent/guardian and student using the Bursary Application Form and we will let you know as soon as the system goes live.

 

STEP 8: COURSE RESOURCES COST INFORMATION

This tab contains details regarding additional costs to support the provision of course resources materials. Please support us by paying these costs at enrolment.

STEP 9: PARENT & STUDENT GUIDE

Deciding what to do after school can be a difficult decision. We are very pleased that you have chosen QMC and confident that you have made the right choice.

Starting at College will be exciting but may also seem a little daunting, especially as you have had a disrupted educational experience over the last few years.  At QMC you will need to adjust to new routines and ways of doing things. We will support you every step of the way. You will find that everyone at College is very friendly and happy to help. If you ever need assistance all you have to do is ask your Tutor or call in at the Help Desk.
