Welcome to QMC’s Triple A+ Programme…
Exceptional support and guidance to help high-performing students achieve their academic ambitions and prepare for entry to top universities, competitive degree programmes, and rewarding careers.
Triple A+ represents our commitment to students who aim high and expect more from their education. It brings together academic excellence, ambitious progression and personalised guidance that enables students to truly stand out.
Within this framework, Triple A+ provides a focused pathway for high achieving students across all subject areas. Whether your interests lie in STEM, humanities, creative arts, social sciences or performing arts and music courses, you will benefit from specialist teaching, academic stretch and preparation for competitive progression routes including leading universities, higher and degree apprenticeships, and professional careers.
What makes this experience distinctive is our scale. At Queen Mary’s College, ambition is never lost in a crowd. Our size allows us to offer genuine individual guidance, with students known, challenged and supported as individuals. They experience independence, but never in isolation. Freedom is balanced with expert direction. High expectations are matched by meaningful support.
Triple A+ is not simply about achieving top grades. It is about developing intellectual confidence, academic depth and the assurance to compete at the highest level, within a community where you are seen, known and guided every step of the way.
What is the Triple A+ Programme?
The ‘Triple A+’ Programme is a package of support and additional opportunities at Queen Mary’s College, designed to guide and aid our most able students in making aspirational academic choices and achieving their full potential. This programme, run alongside students chose courses, provides opportunities for students to engage with higher-level academic work and broaden their skills beyond their chosen curriculum. It also caters to talented dancers, musicians, and performers.
Exceptional performance at GCSE is often a strong indicator of success at A Level, which is why we encourage students in the Triple A+ Programme to aim high, whether pursuing degrees at Oxbridge, Russell Group universities, or competitive degree apprenticeships.
How are students selected?
Students are invited to join the Triple A+ Programme based on their predicted grades during the application process. Typically, applicants will have an average GCSE score of 7 across their subjects. Early applicant events provide guidance and support for those who meet the entry criteria, helping them prepare for the programme before starting college.
