What is the UAL Diploma in Music Performance and Production equivalent to?

It’s equivalent to 1 A Level, making it a great choice for students who prefer coursework and practical projects over exams.

How is the course assessed?

There are no written exams. Assessment is through continuous assignments, including performances, recordings, and written reflections.

Do I need to play an instrument to take this course?

Yes, you should be able to sing or play an instrument to around Grade 4 standard (formal exam not required). Vocalists are encouraged to learn some piano or guitar.

What topics will I study?

You’ll explore performance, composition, production, sound design, music industry awareness, and historical/contemporary contexts, finishing with a collaborative final project.
