Student Destinations

Our students go places. Many achieve more than they ever thought possible when they came to the college. Set your ambitions high: whatever your aim; a good job, a degree, personal achievement, we will work with you to make it happen.

Higher Education

Every year 60-75% of Queen Mary’s College students go on to Higher Education courses: highly specific vocational degrees, traditional academic courses, HNDs, medical training, performing arts courses, Oxford and Cambridge University. Some take a gap year, a year doing interesting things or earning money before going on to HE.

While at the college you will develop the study and personal organisation skills that will make you an attractive candidate for a university place. Your time at Queen Mary’s will enable you to develop the confidence and maturity to interview well and to make the most of your time at university.

When you apply to university you will have the security of knowing that you will have a special programme of support and advice each step of the way. You will also have the reassurance of knowing that your application is backed by Queen Mary’s College, one of the most respected sixth form colleges in Hampshire.

Employment

Lots of people now find that college is the most effective way of increasing their own employability. General and Applied A Levels and BTEC Awards, Certificates and diplomas from Queen Mary’s are much prized by local employers and those further afield.

Whether you are going to university, apprenticeship, sponsored degree or directly into employment, it is important that you understand the employment opportunities leading from the courses you are taking. Many student programmes are given an added dimension through the college’s connections with local and national businesses.
