Oxbridge Offer Holders’ Experience of the Triple A+ Oxbridge Programme
Some of the offer holders shared their experience of QMC’s Triple A+ Oxbridge Programme, which provides highly specialised support to students aspiring to the University of Cambridge and the University of Oxford.
Daisy – University of Oxford I Law (Jurisprudence)

Currently studying: Law A Level I Economics A Level I Politics A Level
Secondary school: Court Moor School
“The Triple A+ Oxbridge Programme at QMC really helped to demystify the experience and set clear goals in a supportive environment. By the end, Oxbridge felt like a more attainable goal I was excited to pursue rather than an intimidating one.
I loved studying all my subjects, especially how they cemented my love of law and sociological debate. This reassured me that I’d love studying law at university.
Participating in the mock trial competition was a valuable experience as getting to experience the law that closely was exciting and beneficial for future study. Through the Mock Trial and Debating enrichment activities, I was able to develop my public speaking skills by engaging with topics I am passionate about. I’m proud of how I’ve progressed both academically and independently at QMC.”
James – University of Oxford I History and Economics

Currently studying: Modern History A Level I Maths A Level I Film A Level I Extended Project Qualification
Secondary school: The Costello School
“The Triple A+ Oxbridge Programme informed me of what Oxbridge actually is and gave me insight into the next step in History. The programme was very helpful with my personal statement writing, and the mock interviews and preparation for the Thinking Skills Assessment (TSA) were useful in practising various scenarios and questions that might appear in the real thing.
I chose QMC because I felt it was the best equipped for its students’ needs. My time here has been great. The teachers have a clear passion for their subjects which, in conjunction with my own interest, has greatly contributed to my engagement and enjoyment.”
Sophia – University of Oxford I Ancient and Modern History

Currently studying: Ancient History A Level I English Language A Level I Economy A Level
Secondary school: Bishop Challoner Catholic Secondary School
“The Triple A+ Oxbridge Programme has been extremely helpful for the admissions process, both for Oxford and for other universities. The support not only from the Oxbridge teachers but also my Oxford University Society (OUS) mentor when it came to personal statements and interview practice was brilliant.
My teachers have been excellent and have really made the content itself more fun to learn.
The History trip to the Ashmolean Museum was an enriching experience. Getting to handle different objects in their exhibits and try to guess what they may have been used for was fascinating. The Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) helped me gain independent research skills which will be invaluable for university, and Gold Duke of Edinburgh was a fun challenge which improved my teamwork skills.
QMC’s environment and the courses on offer are why I chose it. I’ve had a fantastic time so far and made some good friends whilst I’ve been here.”
Rose – University of Cambridge I Economics

Currently studying: Economics A Level I Chemistry A Level I Double Maths A Level
Secondary school: The Costello School
“The Triple A+ Oxbridge Programme has been enormously beneficial in applying to Cambridge through incredible personal statement help and truly dedicated teachers. Hearing from previous QMC students who got accepted into Oxbridge made the result seem possible and helped put my goal into perspective.
The group mock tutorials were fun and engaging and provoked very interesting conversations. I am a maths helper which has helped me to articulate problems clearly, and I also took part in a problem-solving maths enrichment for admissions exams which was very interesting and helpful.
The variety of material covered in my courses and the amazing teachers made all the difference to my learning. The structure of the Double Maths A Level at QMC and the close proximity were some key reasons why I chose to come here.”

Words from QMC’s Oxbridge Team
“We are delighted that our students have been offered places at Oxford and Cambridge. We are hugely proud of them, and of all our Oxbridge applicants.
Some of the courses in question have global offer rates as low as 1 in 10, so these are very significant achievements.
In addition to surpassing the global offer rate by a considerable margin once again, we’re also thrilled that over half of our interviewed applicants received Oxbridge offers, a striking figure.
All our applicants made excellent use of the weekly Oxbridge tutorial-style subject mentoring we put in place, and we are pleased to be able to offer this to our new first-year Oxbridge applicants every week for twelve months, as they prepare for their Oxbridge interviews.
It has also been a great pleasure to see our applicants receiving excellent offers from a host of other elite universities, such as Bristol, Warwick and York.
The whole Oxbridge team has thoroughly enjoyed working with all our applicants.”
