Queen Mary’s College is proud to announce another remarkable year of A Level and Level 3 examination results for its 2025 cohort.

The high-achieving sixth-form college is delighted with the exceptional performance of this year’s students, who have once again demonstrated their dedication, resilience, and academic excellence. The results reflect both the students’ hard work and the unwavering support of the College’s staff.

An Impressive Set of Results

• A Level: 99% pass rate, 73% of all grades awarded A*- C

• Over 99% pass rate in Year 2 Applied General Qualifications

This year’s results are a testament to the commitment of both the students and the teaching staff. Many students have attained top grades, paving the way for successful transitions to university, apprenticeships, and employment.

Principal Mark Henderson expressed his pride in the students’ accomplishments, stating:

“These outstanding results reflect the hard work and perseverance shown by our students, the expertise and dedication of our teaching staff, and the supportive environment fostered by the entire College community. Our students have truly excelled, and we are excited to see them embark on the next chapter of their lives.”

As well as celebrating our highest-achieving students, who benefit from QMC’s package of support such as the Triple A+, Oxbridge, Medics and Vet programme, and Music Scholarships – the College is equally proud to recognise those who have thrived at QMC and achieved beyond expectations, based on their qualifications on entry. Student Tiaan Isaac enrolled on QMC’s Transition to Level 3 programme three years ago, enabling her to retake Maths and English GCSEs alongside a Level 3 course. Tiaan has now secured a place at Southampton Solent University, where she will study her newfound passion: Film Production.

Oxbridge Success

Among the Oxbridge success stories this year are:

  • Katherine McMullen achieved 4 A* grades in Chemistry, Maths, Further Maths, and Physics, securing her place to study Natural Sciences at Cambridge University.
  • Ollie Masters achieved A*A*A* in Biology, Chemistry, and Spanish, and is going to study Biochemistry at Oxford University.
  • Aidan Hobbs secured A*A*A*A* in History, Law, Maths, and Further Maths, and will study Law at the University of Oxford.
  • Harry Zurek achieved A*A*A in History, Politics, and Geography, securing his place at the University of Cambridge to study Anglo-Saxon, Norse, and Celtic Studies.
  • Amy Watkins is off to Oxford University to study Mathematics, having secured A*A*A B grades in Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry, and Geography.

  • Sofia Eben Aimine achieved A* grades in Biology, Chemistry, Maths, and Further Maths, plus an A* in her Extended Project Qualification (EPQ). Sofia will study Dentistry at Bristol University.
  • Eva Skarzynsky is off to study Medicine at the University of Birmingham after securing AAA* in Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics, plus an A in her EPQ.
  • Caitlin Ashwood achieved A*AA in Biology, Chemistry, and Maths, plus an A in her EPQ, and will study Medicine at Cardiff University.
  • Ben Ward achieved AAB in Biology, Chemistry, and Maths, plus an A* in his EPQ, and will study Veterinary Medicine and Surgery at the University of Nottingham.

Academic Excellence
  • Faith Harbut achieved A*AA in Law, Sociology, and Fine Art, and will study Law at the University of Reading.
  • Sam Picking achieved A*AA in Polotics, Geography and Economics and is going on to study Aviation Management at Coventry University
  • Sophie Filsell achieved ABB in Film Studies, English Literature, and Drama & Theatre. Sophie is excited to be heading to the University of Portsmouth to study Film Production.
  • Laura Jones is going to study Creative Writing at the University of Exeter after achieving A*AA in English Language, Media Studies, and Politics, plus an A in her EPQ.
  • Megan Dacosta achieved Double Distinction* grades for Sport and Exercise Science, and C in Geography and is going to study Sport and Exercise Science at Brighton University.

Apprenticeship Success

Among our students who collected results today having secured excellent apprenticeships are:

  • Toby Woodhouse achieved AAA in Physics, Chemistry, and Maths, and has gained a prestigious Manufacturing and Engineering Apprenticeship at Rolls-Royce.
  • Kai Hart beat strong competition to secure a fantastic Deloitte Accountancy Apprenticeship. Kai studied History, Business, and Economics A Levels, achieving AAB.

  • Jess Thain studied Geography, Biology, and Chemistry A Levels, achieving ABC, and will now start a Lab Technician Apprenticeship at AWE.
  • James Messenger secured a Civil Engineering Apprenticeship at BAM Nuttall.
  • Freddy Mitson achieved AAB in Business, Economics, and Psychology, and has secured an apprenticeship with a City-based firm.

Vocational Course Success

In addition to outstanding A Level results, QMC is also celebrating students who have excelled on Level 3 Vocational courses. Students on these programmes also progress to universities, conservatoires, arts and music colleges, apprenticeships, and employment. One such student, Lauren Parkes, has secured a place at university to study Paediatric Nursing, having excelled in her vocational Health & Social Care, Sport, and Medical Science programme.

This year’s results are not only a reflection of academic success but also highlight the holistic development nurtured at Queen Mary’s College. Students have embraced opportunities beyond the classroom, including enrichment courses, competitions, workshops, trips, and Challenges Abroad.

They have also gained valuable skills and insights through the College’s highly successful Work Experience Programme, which connects them with a range of local and national employers, and the Social Action Project, which encourages students to make a positive difference in the community through volunteering, fundraising, and awareness campaigns.
