We are incredibly proud to share that Queen Mary’s College student, Hannah Boyle, was named a finalist in the Young Role Model category at this year’s Place to be Proud of Awards, hosted by Destination Basingstoke.
Hannah, who studies Media, Film and English Literature A Levels, was recognised for her outstanding commitment to community work and volunteering.
She has spent months training and volunteering with Basingstoke Hospital Radio, where she visits wards, speaks with patients, and presents her own radio show to help lift spirits and connect with listeners.
In addition to her work in broadcasting, Hannah actively supports foster children, working closely with social workers and foster agencies to help create safe, joyful experiences for young people in care. Her creativity, compassion and drive to make a difference make her a true inspiration to others.
QMC Principal Mark Henderson and Media Studies teacher Katie Harnett were proud to attend the awards evening to celebrate Hannah’s achievement and the success of so many others across the local area. Katie, who is also Hannah’s Personal Tutor said “Hannah’s commitment to social change, and her active involvement in her community made her an outstanding candidate for the
Young Person’s Role Model award. She is not only ambitious in her personal goals but also deeply invested in using her voice for the greater good. Whether through her radio show, her advocacy work, or her academic achievements, Hannah consistently demonstrates the qualities of a leader who inspires others to make a difference.”
