QMC performing arts students have been busy, working hard to prepare and perform in a variety of exciting, upcoming shows and concerts.
Kicking off the theatrical extravaganza is a rendition of Shakespeare’s timeless classic, ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’. The 2nd-year extended diploma performing arts students have adopted this iconic comedy with a Steampunk approach to make it their own.
‘Songs from the Shows’ will feature first-year Performing Arts and Music Practice students as well as A Level Music students, to take you on a musical journey that transcends different time periods and genres. Backed by a live band, they will showcase a medley of excerpts from beloved musicals like Hamilton, Les Misérables, Mean Girls, Little Shop of Horrors, and more.
As the year draws to a close, QMC is getting ready for its much-anticipated ‘Annual Christmas Concert’. This festive spectacle will be a celebration of the students’ accomplishments across the Performing Arts Department, including Dance, Drama, Music, and Music Theatre. From ensembles to soloists, a dynamic mix of classical and popular music featuring special projects like ‘New Tango’ and ‘Music for the Moving Image’, with the QMC Continuum Music Ensemble, will star on stage. Students will also be performing a number of musical theatre numbers from ‘Beauty and the Beast’ and a selection of Christmas Carols, in celebration of the holiday season. The concert will be supporting the ‘Make a Wish Foundation’, who grant wishes to children who have a life-limiting or life-threatening condition.
Mark your calendars and join us for three spectacular events.
