At QM Sports Centre we programme a variety of exercise classes designed for all abilities. Please see the below class descriptions to find out more.
Your core is one of the most important muscles in your body. These are the muscles that support your spine in everyday movements. If you are looking to improve your posture, increase muscle strength, improve speed and agility then this class is for you.
Ashtanga yoga is the most physical style of yoga, you will most definitely break a sweat! It is a flow of focus, movement and breath that energises both the body and mind. This class is suitable for people with an average level of fitness who enjoy being challenged. Flexibility is not expected.
A great, motivating aquatic exercise class incorporating all levels of fitness. This class incorporates both cardiovascular and resistance training. A great workout for the mind and body. Additional equipment, such as water noodles and aqua weights, may be incorporated into this great workout. This mixed ability class is for those aged 18 or over and is even suitable for non-swimmers!
A fitness and strength workout using a mixture of low impact exercises. Great for toning your thighs, gluteals, abdominals and lower body.
A class designed to give you an all over body workout! This is an excellent way to get in shape and tone the whole body.
A 45 minute class challenging all fitness abilities. It is structured around strengthening abdominal muscles and the spinal region using mat based exercises. The class will leave you feeling empowered.
Keep Active Fitness
Designed for over 50's, keep yourself fit in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Fight against those aches and pains to help with everyday movements.
Keep Active Swimming
Designed for over 50's, learn to swim or simply enjoy a casual swim and socialise during this session, which is supervised by a swimming instructor.
Suitable for all, this Functional Circuit Class provides a great all round body workout using equipment such as Kettle bells, TRX and VIPR. It is designed to help with everyday tasks by building strength, improving fitness and burning those all-important calories. Friendly and uncomplicated, there really is no excuse not to give it a try!
An explosive 30 minute workout designed to improve strength, power, build muscle and change body composition. Every session will focus on different muscle groups and the classes cater for all abilities - but be prepared to work!
Non-Members £5.00 per class. (Please note that Ashtanga Yoga is £6 per 1.5 hour class)
