QMC Director of Learning James Fraser-Murison recently won the national Sixth Form College Association award for Curriculum Innovation after his recent work in helping create the first-ever BTEC in Esports. James was recognised with his work in putting together the esports course that helps link industry-relevant pathways, professional partnerships with HP, Belong and Lenovo and curriculum focused units that deal with the multi-billion pound industry here in the local area.
James said "I'm truly honoured to have been nominated, let-alone actually win this prestigious award and can't wait to get started with this exciting new course. Our aim is to be the leading provider of esports in the south of England and this will go some way in raising awareness of this subject and hopefully attracting students who have an interest and passion in this unique and ever-growing sector."
The brand new BTEC will launch this coming September at QMC in conjunction with the British Esports Association and the leading BTEC providers, Pearson.
