Queen Mary’s College raises £325 for Children In Need!
Students, staff and visitors to Queen Mary’s College on Friday 18th November may have been surprised to see a yellow bear walking the corridors but it was in fact Pudsey Bear, raising funds for Children in Need!
Pudsey went around the College meeting people and shaking his bucket for donations. The morning Pudsey was Elizabeth Dyer, and Hannah Snozwell was the lunchtime Pudsey! The donation bucket was taken over in the afternoon by Tigger, QMC’s SU Charity Officer, who went on to collect further donations. Between Pudesy and Tigger, a total of £202 was collected.
And it wasn’t only Pudesy and Tigger who were raising money for Children In Need on Friday. The Resources Team baked cakes which they sold for a donation. They obviously knew their market as the cakes didn’t last long with QMC staff around, and they raised a total of £77. The Cafe QM team also got into the fundraising spirit by selling cookies, raising an additional £46.
The funds raised at QMC for Children in Need will help provide grants to projects in the UK which focus on disadvantaged children and young people. This year the current amount raised nationally for Children in Need stands at a huge £26,332,334!
