Learning Support

Queen Mary’s College is committed to offering a quality learning experience to all students, regardless of learning difficulty and/or disability. The College Disability Statement and the Learning Support Service Policy Statement are available on request.

Support Services

Support may include:

  • Specialist dyslexia tuition
  • Study Support
  • Support for physical disability
  • Support for sensory impairment, e.g. specialist tutor
  • Arrangements for access to examinations

How do students get support?

Students indicate on the application form if they have additional support needs. These can then be discussed at the individual consultation with the liaison tutor and the Head of Learning Support. Students and/or parents can also discuss individual needs at open days or evenings or at one of the individual consultations before a student starts college in September.

Once a student starts college he or she can self refer or be referred for additional support at any time during a course. The Skills Centre is located in the Library Annexe and offers drop-in sessions, short term support and regular timetabled slots.
