Examples of Possible Programmes of Study

7 or more GCSE's at A*, A or B including English and Maths 4/5 AS Levels in year 1, taking 3/4 through to A Level in the second year. You should concentrate on traditional subjects to maximise your chances of entry to top Universities. You should also consider items from the High Achievers package as part of your programme:

  • Advanced study skills sessions
  • Additional Extension options in Sciences, Maths, Humanities and Arts
  • Advanced Extension papers - these are additional higher level papers taken in the same subjects to demonstrate ability above grade A
  • Degree Level Modules
  • A programme to prepare you for the application interview processes of top universities

5/6 or more GCSE's at C or above including English and/or Maths 4 AS Levels and another assessed course, or a suitable combination of AS Levels, Applied AS Levels, BTEC's, or GCSEs, or 3 AS Levels plus 1 or GCSEs.

3 or 4 GCSE's at C or above a programme to include some Advanced Level work linked to key skills development in your chosen subjects to prepare you for a full Level 3 programme in 2008. Or, BTEC First Diploma plus 1 or GCSEs.

4 or more GCSE's at D or E BTEC First Diploma plus 1 or 2 GCSEs.

Most GCSE's at F and G BTEC Introductory Certificate linked to an individual learning programme, or an Entry Level Package linked to and individual learning programme.
