Art and Design – BTEC National Diploma
| This two year level 3 course provides the underpinning knowledge, understanding and skills for learners wishing to pursue higher level study on a broad range of degree programmes preparing learners for employment in the creative industries. This qualification offers an engaging programme for 16-19 year olds who are clear that they wish to pursue an art and design education. Achievement of the qualification will enable students to directly enter degree programmes, without the necessity to study a Foundation course, as is currently the case with the majority of A Level students. Students are required to complete five core units and an additional thirteen specialist units to allow them to experience a variety of art and design subject areas. The combination of the core and specialist units creates a ‘diagnostic’ course which allows the individual to identify an area of specialism in the second year. |
