Health and Social Care AS and A Level (single and double)

This course is particularly relevant for those students who wish to enter, or have a strong interest in, health and social care fields including nursing, midwifery, social work and allied professions. In the AS year you will study a variety of important areas and issues, including units in providing quality care, communication in care settings and promoting good health. Throughout the year you will be involved in a range of activities including group and individual research, class debates and presentations. In the second (A Level) year you will build your understanding to look at care practice and provision in a number of fields, for instance mental health and child development. You may also have the opportunity to carry out your own research project. You will find the course challenging in a practical and academic sense. You will be required, as part of the course, to undertake a work placement in each year. The course can be taken as either a single or a double A Level.
