Performing Arts (Performance) – BTEC National Diploma
| The BTEC National Diploma in Performing Arts is a practical and academic performance course that requires a 2 year commitment from students. It is a very intensive course for performers. The Performing Arts Diploma gives you the opportunity to study 1 other course alongside. You will study a broad range of performance skills and techniques and explore the work of both classical and contemporary practitioners. Students will learn by completing projects based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands that would be faced by a modern performer. You will develop your skills as a performer, and take part in live performance involving drama, dance and music. Students will complete 18 units of work including: Performance Workshop, Performing Arts Business, The Historical Context of Performance, Rehearsing for Performance and Performing to an Audience. You will also study Musical Theatre Performance and Dance Performance. At the end of the course you will take part in a major group production, which will involve all the skills you have learnt. |
