Film Studies AS and A Level
| This course explores one of the most exciting and creative forms of modern media. You study a wide range of films from various countries, key historical periods, and in different styles. You develop a critical eye to the way films create meanings and also how they are produced within industrial and social contexts. Since the subject crosses several disciplines like History, Sociology and Cultural Studies, it provides a strong base for Higher Education. In the first year you study American and British cinema and do some analytical and creative writing as well as some video production. In the second year you investigate films from other cultures and do some practical production work. |
