Mathematics AS Level
| This carries on from where your GCSE higher level course left off. You’ll investigate graphs using a graphical calculator or computer and use these techniques to solve equations. You’ll discover the need for mathematical proof so that you can solve infinitely many problems at once, not just specific ones. You’ll use algebra to solve different types of equations. You’ll be introduced to a very important area of mathematics known as calculus. You will have the opportunity to study problems from Newtonian Mechanics, such as the path taken by a tennis ball or problems from Discrete Maths, such as finding the shortest route between two towns on a road map. |
