Religious Studies AS and A Level
| This course is designed to help you to develop an interest in, and understanding of, questions and issues in the study of religion. You will study two topics in depth. Modern Directions in Christian Thought looks at the way issues of poverty, oppression, race and gender have affected 20th century theology and your study of Islam will help you to understand its beliefs and ethical teaching. You will look at the cultural, social and political factors that have influenced the development of the world’s fastest growing and, often, misunderstood religion. The learning revolves around discussion and independent and group research. There is a programme of outside speakers and visits. |
