Critical Thinking AS and A Level
In your studies, regardless of which subjects you are taking, you will encounter a variety of arguments. Some of them will be more convincing than others. The aim of Critical Thinking is to develop your ability to argue and assess argument. On this course you will develop the ability to: - Identify arguments, conclusions and the reasons given in support of them p Identify where assumptions have been made and flaws or weaknesses in the reasoning
- Assess the strength of evidence given in support of an argument and the credibility of witnesses
- Construct your own arguments to support or challenge other arguments You will develop these skills by studying passages from newspaper articles, periodicals and books, by discussing different arguments and by presenting arguments of your own.
