Practical English
| This is a one-year course for those students who achieve an E or below in GCSE English Language. The course is designed to improve students’ written and oral communication skills through a range of tasks focusing on basic literacy and the use of English in practical, workbased contexts. As a result this course will not involve the study of literature. The course delivers Key Skills Communication at level 2, a qualification that is valued by employers and that will prepare those students staying in college for a second year to take GCSE English Language. To achieve the qualification students must produce a portfolio of oral and written work and pass a multiple choice literacy test. |
